Our Services
SUNDAY MORNING WORSHIP
We gather together for worship on Sunday Mornings at 10am. Our Sunday Morning service is both laid back and traditional. We invite people to come as they are; some people prefer to dress up for worship, others come casually dressed. We celebrate communion together on the first Sunday of every month. We welcome people of all ages.
Children and youth Sunday School is held during worship between September and May. We have nursery care available as well.
ONLINE WORSHIP
You may join us for worship online as well. To join us live on Sunday morning, please follow us on Facebook for our live stream. To watch the service later, the videos are also uploaded to our website here: Latest / Archive.
SPECIAL SERVICES
We gather for special services of worship throughout the year. Holidays such as Christmas Eve, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday are just a few. These are sometimes held in partnership with sister congregations. The newsletter and Facebook are the best places for up-to-date information about special services.
FREQUENTLY-ASKED QUESTIONS
Where do I enter? Hickory Hills Presbyterian Church is an accessible facility. Our accessible entrance can be found on the lower level of the church building at the East door. The doors to the sanctuary, both facing the front and the back parking lot are open on Sundays for worship. If you are coming for another event, entrance will be in the lower lot, at our accessible entrance. If you are arriving during the week, the office entrance has a doorbell and can be accessed at the southeast corner, facing 95th street.
Where do I park? HHPC has 2 parking lots. For worship you can access the building from either lot. For events during the week, the East door to the lower parking lot is the entrance you will want to use.
How will I be welcomed? If you join us for worship, you will be greeted and asked your name. During the service we share the peace of Christ with one another. You are not required to move around or engage deeply with anyone if you are not comfortable. You will never be called out from the front, asked to stand to be welcomed, or drawn attention to in any public way. You will be invited to join us for a time of fellowship after the service; you are not obligated to join us and we will not be at all offended if you choose not to stay. If you do stay, you will be treated like one of the community.
Am I expected to give money? If you join us for worship or one of our many other events, we will often have a basket out for donations. As our guest, we do not expect anything from you, we are glad to have you with us. These baskets are a way for members of our church family to give back to support the ministries and mission of HHPC.
If you find a home with us at HHPC, we would love for you to prayerfully consider regular giving, as you are able. You can give by cash or check anytime you are in the building. When we hold other special offerings, the same expectations apply.
What should I wear? If you are joining us for worship, we invite you to come as you are. While there are some in our community who choose to dress up for worship, there are many who come as they are. You are welcome no matter what you are wearing.
